“Life comes from Life”
A healthy Raw Food Diet is comprised primarily of fresh Fruits & Vegetables, some raw Nuts & Seeds (often soaked), fresh Herbs, Sprouts, Seaweeds, and fresh Fruit & Vegetable Juices. It may also include Fermented Foods (such as Miso, Kimchee or Sauerkraut), raw Nut Butters & raw Nut Milk, and occasionally cold-processed plant oils (such as Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Hemp Oil).
Raw foods are especially high in Enzymes, Vitamins, Minerals, Fiber, Phytochemicals, and many other Natural Elements yet to be “discovered”. For a food to technically be considered raw, it should not be heated over 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46 degrees Celsius).
A raw food lifestyle can be as simple or exciting as you wish. You could have a simple meal of several oranges or a gourmet spread including a chunky vegetable stew (warmed but not cooked), a deluxe side salad with lots of veggies and a creamy homemade dressing, dehydrated herb crackers, and a raw dessert such as a lemon cashew cream pie on a spiced almond-date crust with a side of banana ice cream. Yum! ;-)
